sholom & zuckerbrot realty was founded in 1962 by partners sanford zuckerbrot and ronald sholom, both in their early 20s. our first office was located on the top floor of a small loft building under the elevated subway line at queens plaza in long island city. the ‘80s: expansion  in the early 1980s, s&z expanded and relocated to offices in the kaufman-astoria studios, which we had helped to assemble on behalf of the developer, kaufman properties. the new offices allowed for expanded coverage of the bronx and long island markets as well as a diversification of operations to match the changing marketplace during this period. our office, retail, investment sales, asset management and property management departments were created at this time.the ‘90s through today: strength and stability in the early 1990s, sandy zuckerbrot’s son frank and long-time associates lawrence smith, john ritter and gail roseman became partners in the firm, representing its next generation of leadership. today, the firm has grown to 25 members strong. our average associate has been with s&z for over 20 years. we employ individuals with extensive experience in almost all types of commercial properties. groundbreaking transactions throughout its history, s&z has been a pioneer in the changing landscape of new york city commercial real estate. our firm has often been recognized for its ability to create groundbreaking transactions involving the conversion of underutilized real estate into new and modern uses. our sales teams have been involved with many long-term assemblage projects for commercial and residential development on behalf of some of the biggest new york city real estate families and companies. after nearly a half century of growth and successes, we remain committed to the principles upon which the company was founded: providing the best possible real estate services for our customers and consistently delivering high quality results. charitable focus our firm is proud to have a long-standing involvement with local charities such as:
